THE 7 INITIATIVES
CAN MAKE A
What is the 7?
The truth, not everyone is a navy seal, in law enforcement, an educated social worker or victim advocate specialist. Most of us are just normal people, working normal jobs, in normal communities, that want to know what we can do to make a significant impact.
SAS is the seven most important things you can do to fight human trafficking. Starting with number one work your way through the 7 initiatives. You'll be joining a brotherhood of individuals passionate about making a difference in this cause.
In the near future, we will begin developing resources for each step. Thanks for starting this journey with us.
THE 7 INITIATIVES
Start the fight by donating $7 a month. For the cost of a cup of coffee you're making a significant impact. Your $7 goes to support rescue through tactical intervention, training, educational media for awareness, as well as housing, medical treatment, counseling, and transitional funds for victims of human trafficking.
Start this step by heading over to the SAS store and purchase some of our legit merchandise. This is a great way to start conversations and raise awareness about the issue. Be prepared to share about your work in this fight and educate those who ask.
You can't do this alone. Find 7 friends who are as passionate about social justice as you are. Invite them into the conversation, meet up once a month over coffee, or share a meal. Encourage each other, strategize and make plans to further your knowledge together.
Seek out the best education on anti-trafficking work. There are organizations, online trainings, conferences, courses and certifications. This will help you make better decisions and be more effective in this work. We all have a lot to learn and no one knows it all. Our newsletter is a great place to start. We'll keep you up to date and informed.
We have vetted dozens of organizations that work in the field. Many have opportunities to serve on the streets volunteering and working side by side with the best in the Nation.
Seek out some opportunities to serve, hands on, in the streets with an organization that's in the trenches. We'd love to connect you to some legit ways to do this. Send us an email at: email@example.com
With the experience you've gained and community you've built, it's time to engage your city. You can start small with an awareness campaign. This an excellent time to begin building community relationships with law enforcement, advocacy groups and those who are working on the front lines in your area.
PROCESS AND PARTNERSHIPS
This is the work. It's on going and intentional. By the time you've reached this step you're in the game and gaining experience daily. Building a plan and process for rescue, using what you've learned, and partnering with numerous care givers in your community and your state.
